Casa Cares in Reggello is the Waldensian House for enthusiasts of ecotourism in Tuscany near Chianti, surrounded by the hills and just a few kilometres from the natural park of Vallombrosa. A-road from Florence: go south on route SR 69 following the indications for Pontassieve. About 6 km after Pontassieve, turn left toward Vallombrosa/Donnini at the intersection. Follow the indications for Donnini, then turn right toward Reggello. You will see the sign for the Cares House after passing through San Donato in Fronzano.
Motorway (A1): exit at Incisa Reggello and follow the indications for Reggello. After Reggello, follow the indications for Donnini/Valleombrosa. After the locality of Pietrapiana, follow the indications for Donnini. You will see the sign for the Cares House on the right after about 1 kilometre.
Take a regional train from the Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence to Sant’Ellero (a trip of about 30 minutes), which is about 5 km from the Cares House. Take a Colbus bus from the Sant’Ellero station to the Cares House. If buses are not available, call to request a pick-up at the Sant’Ellero station.
